This topic is often talked about
but do we really see, hear or feel exactly what the ramifications of respecting
one another can be?
I have had many experiences in
life to now speak about this subject with some desire to unravel the mysteries
that plague our world. Respect or a lack of it, is one of the key players in
todays' world, changing the way we are treated and treat others. I guess we can
all have an input about our personal experiences and the lack of apparent
respect on those occasions which of course would and will shape our opinions of
the topic. This is of course part of why I am writing this now, to discuss and
review how I myself came to my conclusions and how they are shaping the future
respect I can show and expect to receive. And of course to hear what you the
reader, also feel is contributory to the subject. Sharing our thoughts and
experiences may indeed help us all to respond more favourably towards the things
we do not always understand clearly.

A deferential esteem towards a

So respect carries with it an
element of expectation even if it is nothing more than, that another would have
or display concern, responsibility or remorse over their own actions.
What happens when we disrespect
others?
I mean other than them feeling a
sense of sadness.
On so many occasions I have known
my own expectation levels to have been so high that I felt more disappointment
over my own lack of judgement than the actions of the other. That is often the
greater problem, how we avoid having expectations above what can be realised in
reality. But enough of this, we do feel let down, saddened even betrayed when
another’s actions show disrespect towards us, ergo a lack of respect. Inside we
often placate ourselves with the feeling that the other had no idea what the result
of their actions were going to reveal. Even worse is the consideration that
they acted despite this certain knowledge of the affect that their lack of
respect could cause. It may feel like a slight on us, an attack on us as a
person, being or entity. Obviously if we assume a high level of ego then of
course that would feel bruised, our pride damaged. Even if the actions of the
other were not intent on causing harm, distress or anxiety.
Do the actions of the other
always show a lack of respect, or can it be something else?
I see that respect is an action
towards me, but also a response on my part is needed to accept the action. Or
without it there is no respect or lack of it as a concept in our minds.
An example:
Someone throws a bucket of water
over us. Our choice is to feel hurt, wet, uncomfortable even angry. But if we
had been on fire, our clothes alight from an incendiary then would we have the
same acceptance of that action? Surely we would feel thankful, grateful and
even glad of the attention of that brave person. So is it not the way we see,
respond and are open to the actions of others that carry the greater weight of
responsibility? Feelings such as hurt, anger and betrayal are clearly responded
to by our ego in the above example. Feeling of being wet, uncomfortable and
cold maybe are real dynamics that we can choose to see in another light all
together. They are sensory responses and have no real attachment to the ego,
that part of us that would respond in another way entirely.
Of course where the problems come
for us, is when we see the actions of the other directly manifest against our
well-being, the sense of balance we attempt to maintain. A cross word, an
unfriendly comment, a direct betrayal of our expectation for decent honest
treatment can send us into this world of misunderstanding. But it would seem to
me that this is still the ego wanting its higher self to feel empowered and
justified in a negative response towards whom it seems to be the perpetrator of
the insult, slight or injury. Sadly we are all guilty of responding to an
insult, hurt and betrayal by focusing our response in places other than where
they seemed to originate, (i.e. the person who’s actions began the feelings of
apparent disrespect). This is not at all helpful or constructive, especially to
the third party now feeling the response of someone, something else’s actions.
And so injustice abounds pushed from one place to another freely and unabated.
It is our choice to be hurt,
glad, happy even disappointed. Everything is within our power to change
depending upon our understanding and openness to the situations life throws at
us. Respect is a vehicle that can be driven well or badly, taken seriously it
can build many solid foundations or tear apart trust and loyalty. In my own
experience I trust my intuitions that arise when I have the feelings that
respect has been abused, treated badly, driven without regard for others.
From a cosmic perspective our
lives and our feelings are possibly not as important to the fabric of that universe
and scale. It is when we come back to our own microcosm that the respect
evident becomes all pervasive in our minds. We should often try to go large,
see things from another place rather than focusing on tiny details, the minutia
of life. It may indeed help us to understand the relativity of all things and
also to put respect for others in another place, higher on the agenda of our
actions. None of us would want to be responsible for the lack of joy in the
life of anyone else would we?
I hope that the discussions here
have been of help, they certainly have to me in writing this. Seeing my
thoughts in text, reading them back to myself and correlating this piece has
given me yet another new perspective.

to each and every one of you. Let integrity to love, be the way you live, for
all the side effects of this are positive.
It would appear would it not, to even the untrained eye, that
the people who claim to be responsible for the way this country is run and
organised, have no intention of changing anything for the good of the people
they apparently serve, the nation?
Add to that the Monarchy, (the Queen and her brood) and we
have a clear picture of the wealth of this country being used not for anything
to help the masses, but to actually deny them any real consolation for being
loyal subjects.
Does governing for change and actually delivering initiatives
that have negative impacts on the working classes constitute an active delivery
of services and reform that the government say they wish to restore?
If you are looking for insight and understanding, please read
on, I have much to offer by way of simple and reasoned arguments. I aim
specifically to lay bare the hypocrisy that comes from the mouths of those
officials and ministers whom have no genuine defence for their blatant
disregard of humanity.

illusions you are being bombarded with on all of the media services, even the
one I use to share this information with you. If you are keen to become awake
however to the truth before our very eyes, then try to remain open minded, even
about what I myself am saying. I am no enlightened being and have no greater
capacity than anyone else to see the lies, yet I am writing this to try to
share the ideas that many enlightened souls have already shared with us.

An illustration:
We are in a small house and the furniture in the living room
is old fashioned and designed for a time gone by, when rooms were much more
spacious. Add to this our family has grown and the seating is not sufficient to
seat everyone comfortably in the evenings when the family are together.
If we are unhappy and or marginalised by these facts what
could we do to restore happiness and or a sense of balance?
We need change!
Or we continue as we are and the suffering goes on too!
What could be done?
We could move house. We could remove all of the furniture and
replace with bean bags. We could lower the amount of people sharing the space.
We could schedule a rota for using the space equitably. We could knock the wall
out into the adjacent room and make the space feel larger.
As you can clearly see, all of the above solutions require an
alteration of some elements of the scenario.
CHANGE!
Effective change therefore, means that elements have to be
altered significantly for the balance of peace and contentment to return. If
not, then the same problems will arise again and again until something is done
about them. And often the changes have to be so large that the initial feelings
may be, of being overwhelmed by fear of that restoration. And here lies the
real difficulty. Human beings are simultaneously afraid of change and
constantly experiencing it.
But not everyone wants change.
There are certain people whom require things to stay as they
are, but the appearance of change to be promulgated to appease the masses and
their’ need to feel they are receiving some element of reward for their
continued obedience. Those people are so devious that they openly say that they
want to make things better for everyone whilst actually really only serving the
wants and desires of themselves, which is ultimately at the expense and
suffering of the rest of the population, and not a true delivery of the
promises that their empty words express. You all know who they are, we all see
them constantly proclaiming their servitude to you and I, but in secret (and
often not so secret) they act without regard or respect to the people they
claim to serve. Yes you’ve guessed it, politicians. Leaders of industry and
enforcement agencies, protection services and health care. At many levels the
abuse is rife and continues to reward only the obscenely greedy. In this those
whom carry on this activity are copying the governmental leaders and
maintaining the effects of this selfishness, not eliminating it.
We’ve all heard about the expenses scandals of the ‘house of
commons’ and the ‘house of Lords’. We see corporations paying nothing or very
little into the pot that they take so much from. We see the Monarchy offering a
bare minimum of effort to entertain the idea of democracy whilst taking vast
sums of taxpayers’ money to live the extravagant lifestyles they continue. And
we have to listen to them bleating on about ‘living with our means’, as if they
really understand what that actually means at all….
You may hear in my tone a sense of scathing disrespect, but I
assure you that it is in fact nothing more than righteous indignation at the
inequality and injustice of this situation. As human beings I have total
respect for these people, but not their hypocritical activities. As in fact I
would expect to suffer the accusatory eye, if I did not myself try to live a
more decent and honourable life. But my
friends, this is the way that our country and our world operates, gross
inadequacies and blatant disrespect for all human dignity, promoted and
instigated largely by the highest earners and the most senior figures of
established organisations and government.
Please do your own research there is plenty of information
available if you care to look for it. In fact there is an abundance of it under
reported on a daily basis by the established media and the only way you’ll
probably find out the real truth is if someone like me shares it with you.
What has the government
promised:-
To stop corporations evading their due taxes and duties.
To find and bring to justice the people who caused our
economic collapse.
To find and bring to justice the leaders of terrorist groups
and promoters of terrorist acts.
To seek peaceful means to resolve conflict.
To uphold human rights and punish violators of them.
To bring prosperity to all the subjects of our country.
To maintain justice as a foundation of our democracy.
To deliver effective care for the poor and needy.
To deliver affordable homes and services to the people of our
country.
To make trade a fair and interactive consideration.
The list could go on for days…
What have they
delivered/honoured:-
Made no attempts to ask the corporations to pay their dues or
leave our country. Put nothing in place to force them to do so. Made no
attempts to embargo the operations of these companies within our territories.

They have made no arrests of the heads of these banks or
their risk taking managers. Made little inquiry into the freedoms that these

Have made a big song and dance about the ‘Terrorists’ and
their organisations and gone after them in a style unprecedented in previous
generations, by desolating country after country, murdering tens of thousands
of innocent people and leaving millions more to fend for themselves in a vacuum

WITHOUT our agreement. Ignored human rights in this pursuance, and fed arms

The government are well known to have avoided any peaceful
means of conflict resolution in favour of military action ahead of any
reasonable debates, fed the nation lies as facts to somehow support their
interventions, and disregarded clear evidence to the contrary that, military
intervention would indeed stop any war. Many campaign groups and individuals
who have tirelessly worked to reveal evidence and display the real reasons for
war have been disregarded, verbally abused and even interfered with in the
pursuance of our government conducting illegal and immoral warfare. Julian

Our government continues to support regimes that are the
worst offenders of human rights violations and have done nothing of any
significance to bring any violators to the forum for justice. The U.S.A. and
Guantanamo Bay. Saudi Arabia. Even our own intelligence services as a few
examples.
The austerity measures enforced upon us have not created
significant expansions of the jobs markets, created fair trade, brought
prosperity and any heightened levels of success to the millions of people out
of work, those seeking a hope for their survival. The wealth of the nation has
not been more reasonable shared, nor used to create any activities that would
ease the ongoing suffering of millions of people, desperately seeking food and
shelter and a chance to live without fear of shortage. They have neither
invested the countries money into any schemes that are observably sharing

The justice system of this country once an avid upholder of
justice, has seen expensive trials paid for by the taxpayers, bring no-one to
account for the deaths of many innocent people, Diana Spencer and Dodi Fayed
the most obvious to note. A large number of serving politicians, accused of
child sex offences, are being allowed to go unquestioned to this very day about
these allegations. The expenses scandals
are quickly swept under the carpet as few politicians are brought to trial for
the crimes of deception that they sometimes knowingly commit.
The governments of this country have for decades been undoing
the effectiveness of the services provided, claiming that there is not enough
money to deliver decent health care, or social care or amenities on the budgets
they have, whilst selling the national responsibility to private companies who
run solely for profit above service. And they continue to spend vast sums of
money on the armed forces and foreign wars instead of tackling the lack of

The governments’ current policies on affordable homes is
insufficient and way behind target. The houses being built are substandard and
have not been designed with sustainability, the environment or the needs of
modern families in mind. They are neither really affordable for working people,
who now spend almost half if not more of their income on their accommodational
needs. Few working couples/people can actually afford the repayments for these
houses, even if they can get the deposits and move in. The amount of
repossessions of properties is clear evidence of this fact.
In the pursuance of making trade fair the government are
pushing through the TTIP, TPP which are secretly negotiated trade deals
benefitting hugs corporations across the globe, whom will then act with only
self interest to their shares and profits, and even sue countries who seek to
challenge their dominance and control of the trade markets. All of this in secret
with no comeback by ordinary people, thus making both democracy and human
rights a thing of the past. TTIP
To balance out this somewhat scathing inference that our
leaders and Monarchy care little about you and I, let’s look at what they
actually do for us, to demonstrate their servitude to us, or their role of our
spiritual heads of religion or social justice.
Oh there are none…
Unless you consider the mismanagement of every national
service that were once the pride of the modern world. Rail and bus services,
health and social care services. Broadcasting and journalism, trade and utility
services…..
We’re totally buggered to be fair. The only freedom you
currently have is breathing, and even that is being affected by the dropping of
harmful chemicals into the skies above us. Our water and food intakes are being
irrevocably interfered with, again for corporate needs to be met rather than
our actual need being met. Every movement of our day is monitored by forces
unseen but powerfully aware of where we are and what we are doing. We are
forced to work longer hours for less pay and with fewer benefits and services
to compensate, to keep a system alive that is at the end of its days. The
capitalist system has collapsed and the reality has just not hit home yet. The
lie that it will ever reward all those willing to invest in it is crumbling
before our very eyes, only the completely ignorant do not see or believe this.
The overwhelming evidence that a resource based economy cannot outlive a finite
based resource world is beyond question. And yet the illusion is upheld as they
squirrel away more and more supplies for the collapse that they know is being
understood and will be witnessed very soon.
Be aware, your government do not have your best interests at
heart nor do they serve you. If they did you would feel it and see it in
evidence, and there would be no need for anyone to suffer needlessly, now would
there?
There are still people who are aiming to help reorganise this
structure and uphold decency and justice, but they are few and far between it
would seem, and have little access to the spaces where real change could be
implemented on a large scale. Caroline Lucas and a handful of other politicians
are the small vestiges of hope left in that arena.
I’m not a ‘huge’ fan of Russell Brand for many reasons, but
on occasion he does make quite resounding if not comical sense of the
establishment and its’ hypocrisies, for there are many. Please follow the link

It is in my humble opinion worth a few minutes of your day.
Please take some time to review what I am saying, the reasons
for my saying it, and the choices you may make as a result of these
considerations. It is within your hands to make the changes you wish to see in
the world. If you are happy as things are and don’t want to do anything about
it, then that’s also your freedom of choice, so don’t be disappointed if others
make your choices for you without your consent.
And most importantly, have a great day in the full knowledge
that your destiny is in your hands. It’s not what you think that matters, it is
what you do…..
I had once thought that human beings were moving towards a point of great enlightenment. That social justice would become a 'norm' and not have to be fought for.And then I find myself flabbergasted at the results of the elections in Britain all over again. Ordinary people took to the streets in their millions to vote back in the same party that have systematically, been removing all the blocks to getting away with murder, and devastating the planet and the hope of continued life here on it. Now of course the Tories are not the only ones who have failed to deal adequately with, really important and imminent global issues that threaten to depopulate the planet of human beings en-mass. In some places we haven't even conceded that we are to blame for the climate changes and global green house gas emissions, that are wrecking the air supply and heating up the polar ice caps at such a rate that we may all be drowned in a few decades.
It seems to me to be ludicrous that few people, were prepared to end the greed and corruption of the past centuries and bring about wholesome changes, that could benefit the entire global community, not just the few. Like you I no doubt seem shocked that the evidence has yet again been ignored, and that we have accelerated away from the responsibility to do something quickly and avert the disaster we are causing with our greedy politics and solely financial based economies. Many people in our history warned us of the effects of this corruption if we did not stop it.Sadly we do not appear to heed anything, and my observations still tell me that we are past the point of getting it back on track with any haste. A big part of me feels overwhelmed at our collective stupidity and lack of wisdom. The main part of me feels ineffective against an obvious enemy for change, that has crushed many of us in the wake of its tireless abandon for world domination and human extinction.
Don't we get it that if we don't react quickly we are outa here, no future for the children of the world or their children?
If I were wrong (and I sincerely wish I were) then why doesn't the evidence show this is not the case?
Some part of me, a very tiny yet equally powerful part, still believes in miracles, and that we could stop this madness if we wanted. I don't see the majority of people recognising this and it makes me feel quite helpless and dejected, and this bothers me. We don't have the want of ending the possibility our own extinction. So what good has all of this technology, education and money done for us, if we learn nothing?
I'm standing on a road, crossing to the safety of the meadow by the woods and suddenly a large truck is heading down the road and my legs become rooted to the spot. The driver sees me and accelerates towards me but I can't move, so powerless do I feel in the fear I have been indoctrinated with, to challenge the way things are. Fate is a sick joke and I know I ought not believe in this lie, but it rings in my ears as the truck thunders closer with each passing second. Suddenly I spy a small child crossing alongside me and they too become frightened in to not moving out of the way of the Juggernaut. I sense the wrongness of the death of this child, ahead of my own demise, but still cannot move. Time slows down and I realise we are both going to be smashed to pieces under the sheer weight of the oncoming truck. Then somehow I look to my left and begin to see so many others all stood helplessly stranded and shaking with fear. I hear thudding in my ears and the sound of the lorry becomes deafening, closing in. There is nothing right or good or even fair about this, and I am more frightened than I have ever been in my entire life. This, beyond anything I have ever known scares me more, my failure to respond to certain destruction and an end to all that I hold dear. Closing my eyes will not stop this oppression, nor will it avert the fate I am told will come, but close them I do in the certain knowledge that life is over and that nothing can change this. Then a thought occurs and I immediately feel hopeful. If I chose a new reality I will not have to suffer the eventuality that will take my life away. Love fills me. Love of others ahead of myself and a chance to show how change can be good for us. My legs begin to move and before I realise it I am running towards the truck bearing down on us, with renewed faith in the power of love. I run with all the strength that is within me, and throw myself high into the air as I reach impact point with the truck and its crazed driver. In his eyes I suddenly see fear, fear that my doing something other than what he expected me to do fills him with shock and surprise. He realises I am not afraid, and that he cannot hurt me now in my sacrifice, but that I can hurt him as I come in through the windscreen. In a swift movement he swerves away and crashes his vehicle into the grasses at the kerbside as I fall softly back to the ground and smile. I run over to the truck to help the driver despite the hatred I had witnessed in his actions only moments ago. He looks small, stunned and himself helpless as I offer a hand to help him from the wreckage. He clearly doesn't know what to say as those that he would also have killed come along to offer him kindness. The child that was by my side, is now carrying a flower and places this softly in the hands of the driver and says to be more careful in future. Smiling the child moves away to find their family, singing and skipping full of innocence and joy.
Nothing can deter the power of love, for when the power of love overcomes the love of power we all will know peace.
Holding grudges is part of the problem with why we are fighting in the first place. Being greedy and selfish is a misguided response to a lack of what we believe we are missing out on. We deserve what we give to others. If this is violence then we beget more violence. If we mistrust and base our actions on this, then we are to be mistrusted. The cycle is continued whilst we continue with it. If we let it go, it could eventually be gone. Challenge the world by all means, but do it with love and not fear, and watch the love come back. The world we have helped to create is exactly the way it is because of us and our expectations. Those that thought that they have a right to more than anyone else, have created the scenario where greed can exist. If we shared what is here, what was here long before we came about, then the argument about more or less would be pointless. Abundance can only exist if we create the place to have abundance for all. Otherwise it is not abundance at all but greed.
The Native Americans knew that the earth does not belong to us, that we belong to it.
So people, please, let's stop squabbling over land and possessions and be the kind of people who care for others and who can share what is given to us for free. Life should not be a debt we have to pay for, but a right that we can all enjoy. I'm done now, so you can make your own minds up, and guess what?
I'll still believe that Love is stronger than any other gift.
